Mystic Jasper & Hematite True Bronze Rosary inspired by St. Hildegard of Bingen
“I am the fiery life of the essence of God; I am the flame above the beauty in the fields; I shine in the waters; I burn in the sun, the moon, and the stars. And with the airy wind, I quicken all things vitally by an unseen, all-sustaining life.”
-Hildegard of Bingen
This semi-precious Rosary is made with unique electroplated/iridescent "Mystic" Jasper beads of varying cool green, mauve and grey tones, interspersed with iridescent czech beads. The Pater beads are brass electroplated hematite. Accent beads of faceted glass and vintage-look bronze base metal bead caps are found throughout the Rosary.
The true bronze lace filigree center depicts the Virgin, and the Crucifix is decorated with scrolls and stars. Both are true bronze, cast from vintage originals here in the USA.
The coloration of this Rosary is inspired by the "Choir of Angels" illumination from Hildegard's book, "Scivias" This is one of 26 illuminations Hildegard wrote about, depicting the creation and structure of the universe and our world, and the narrative of salvation. Hildegard was not the artist, but she described her visions in detail to someone who translated them into the beautiful works of illumination that we are able to appreciate today.
This Rosary is priced higher than my usual range due to the higher cost of the semi-precious beads and larger sized true bronze centerpiece. This particular Rosary is continuously strung with supportive crimp beads throughout. Centerpiece and crucifix are true bronze casted from vintage originals, all other bronze-toned hardware is brass.
Each rosary I make is one of a kind and prayerfully assembled.
I strive for high quality and durable craftsmanship, but should you have any issues with breakage or loss of an individual segment of one of the Rosaries, I will repair the broken segment for you, or rework all of the beadwork around the original bronze elements in such a situation that the individual beadwork cannot be recreated. This service requires advance authorization and return of the entire rosary/parts so that I may give it prompt attention.
In addition to creating the custom Rosaries shown here, I'm also a member of Our Lady's Rosary Makers and make Mission Rosaries, to send to communities in need.
